EVOLUTION WEBSITE REDESIGN

Project Overview

Evolution provides mobility-aid products, with its website serving primarily as an informational resource rather than an e-commerce platform. This redesign study explored how the site could better communicate product information while creating a simpler, more intuitive experience for its primary audience.

The Challenge

The existing website presented large amounts of information within visually crowded layouts and relied heavily on the brand's primary colour. With many users aged 70+, readability, navigation, information hierarchy, and ease of use were important considerations in rethinking the experience.

The Approach

I explored ways to simplify the interface by reducing visual clutter, introducing more white space, improving typography and reorganizing information around user needs. The existing green brand colour was retained as an accent rather than a dominant element.

I also developed a revised sitemap and low-fidelity wireframes before exploring the redesigned interface.

Simplified Product Information

Product pages use larger imagery, increased white space, and expandable content to make detailed information available without overwhelming the initial view.

Clearer Navigation

A persistent navigation system provides easier access to other areas of the site as users move through longer pages.

Visual Product Guidance

Product and accessory information uses visual presentation to reduce reliance on lengthy written explanations and help users understand how accessories relate to individual products.

Content Hierarchy

Secondary information such as manuals, warranties, and product sheets is consolidated to reduce repetition and keep primary product information prominent.

Store Locator

Because the website is informational rather than transactional, I proposed a store-locator experience to help visitors move naturally from researching a product online to finding a nearby retailer.
